What is a CCD Teacher?

The catechist shares in and helps to carry out the catechetical mission of the Church. The Bishop along with his Pastors provides for the catechesis of all the Christian people entrusted to their care. Pastors, with the assistance of the Catechetical Administrator, carry out this teaching mission in the local parish church through the ministry of the volunteer catechists. This catechist teaches in a systematic way the Word of God to children, youth and adults and proclaims the Word by his/her own living witness of the faith.

How may I participate?

A catechist is faithful to the past, open to the future, but especially dedicated to deepening the faith of the present generation. A catechist is an ordinary person who is extraordinary because he or she teaches as Jesus did.
