Parish Pastoral Council

The Parish Pastoral Council is a leadership group that strives to give direction to our parish community through planning.  The Pastoral Council serves as a consultant group to the Pastor.  Counselors must be good listeners, open to the needs of the people they serve and communities to the faith development of each member of the Christian Community of Saint Johns.  With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and prayerful discernment, the Council identifies the needs of the parish.  They then study the needs, research possible solutions and prioritize those needs that have been identified.  Through a process of consensus decision making, the Pastoral Council recommends to the Pastor and his staff, strategies and direction that will meet the needs of the parish.  The implementation of the recommendation are the responsibilities of the organizations, ministries, and parishioners of St. John's.  Through pastoral planning that is deliberately spiritual, the council provides the means to accomplish the mission of the parish.
