Baptism Catechists Members of our Baptism Catechist team visit new and expectant parents in order to educate them for their role as Christian parents and prepare them for the Baptism ceremony. Visits are set up by a the team members with the parents. Team training is provided when necessary. Q: What skills and talents are needed? A: Understanding of the sacrament of Baptism is necessary but this understanding will be forthcoming upon request. A desire to help parents with their knowledge of the effects of the sacrament of Baptism is of prime importance.
Q: What is the time commitment? A: One evening per month, and maybe less, depending on the number of Catechists, for visiting the parents and presenting the necessary information pertaining to the baptism of their child.
Q: How does this ministry affect others? A: The work of Christians is to spread God's word and what better way than to teach others. One on one teaching is greatly appreciated by the parents. The convenience of meeting according to one's busy schedule is also a plus. Contact: Ms. Jane Tarr |
